in NYC, if you don’t “aggressively yield” then you will be sitting there forever. In this whole video there were only a few really dangerous incidents. Not sure what the guy at 2:15 was doing and the jaywalker at 1:57 made a really dumb decision to go.

With a city like New York, there aren’t going to be strictly layed out rules. There are just too many pedestrians, motorists, and cyclists using the same streets. It’s up to the people themselves to make decisions and handle the risks associated with their decisions

Spoken like someone who’s never ridden a bike in traffic. News flash for the uninformed: bikes are vehicles! Doesn’t forgive any of the bad behavior by the cyclists in this video. But the safest place for a cyclist to be for all concerned is in the roadway. The street is where higher velocity vehicles are supposed to be. Fast moving bicycles are a menace on the sidewalk. I’m oh so sorry we force you to be a more attentive driver, taking time away from your texting or applying makeup
